December 31, 2017:
It’s not a Tsunami, but unending red waves today hit Agartala, an exalted CPIM supporter commented as youths, males, females – tribal and non-tribal people dressed in red attire, wearing red cap and holding red flag fly high today marched to Swami Vivekananda Ground today in Agartala.
Making a clarion call to form LF Govt for the 8th time, Tripura Left Front today held a ‘historic’ rally in Agartala. CPIM All India secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI All India Secretary D Raja, CPIM Politburo leader cum Tripura CM Manik Sarkar, All India leaders of Forward Bloc and RSP addressed the gathering today.
Known as a good orator, Sitaram started his speech saying country does not need Neta or leader, but there is need of pro-people policy for the wellbeing of countrymen.
“The country is going through a critical period with rapidly increasing unemployment rate and slow-down of GDP growth.
Of the country’s total wealth, only 1 percent people own 60 percent wealth while 99 percent people possess only 40 percent wealth.”
Launching a scathing attack on BJP, Yechury said, “Those who raise slogan- Bharat Mata Ki Jay or deliver lecture on Ram avatar might have not read the Ramayana properly.
In Ramayana, the horse of Lord Ram was stopped by his sons Luv and Kush. Similarly, Modi’s horse will be stopped by twins- hammer and sickle of farmers and workers in Tripura.”
The huge gathering has made it clear today that Left front will retain power and certainly form the next government in Tripura. And, it will convey a strong message to Modi-led government.”
Finally, he greeted the people of Tripura on the eve of New Year and urged them to be aware of any kind of conspiracies.
CPI national secretary D. Raja said, “When the country, due to the misrule of the BJP-led government at the Centre, is passing through a very critical situation, Tripura is the light, and hope for the countrymen.”
Showering praise on Tripura’s Left front government for its remarkable achievements, he said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi should visit Tripura to realize what is called development.
In his speech, the CPI leader said, “India is for all religions and all faiths. The But the BJP backed by RSS is trying to destroy the unity. The diversity is pride of our country. If the pride breaks, India will be destroyed.”
He said that once Prime Minister Narendra Modi described himself as the “Pradhan Sevak” (chief servitor) of the people, but was serving the cause of “millionaires, the Adani group, affluent persons” and not poor people, dalits, tribals, farmers and workers.
“I challenge, the BJP can never beat Left front in Tripura. The victory of Left front in Tripura will be the victory of country,” he concluded.
CPI-M state committee secretary Bijan Dhar has expressed deep concern over arrival of outsiders in the poll-bound state. He urged the party men to closely monitor movement of the outsiders so that they can’t design any ploy to disrupt peace, harmony and development of the state.
A galaxy of Left front leaders including Monoj Bhattacharjee of RSP and Naren Chatterjee of Forward Bloc, both from Kolkata, also attended the rally.
