The State-level Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) core committee meeting was held at hall no-1 of the New Secretariat building, Agartala on Friday (December 30).
The meeting was presided over by Chief Electoral Officer, Kiran Gite. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Usha Jen Mog, Additional Chief Electoral Officer S Bandopadhyay , Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Suman Banik, Secretary of Agartala Press club Pranab Sarkar and others were present in the meeting.
The meeting was held to conduct a free and fair election of the Tripura Legislative Assembly .2023.
To ensure maximum turnout of the upcoming Tripura Assembly General election,2023 as directed by the Election Commission of India to strengthen the Systematic Voter Education and Election Preparation (SVEEP) campaign, the election of multiple constituencies from distant polling stations through RVM, to achieve voting percentage higher than 88% in 2013 in 929 polling stations, encourage new voters in vote casting, arrangement of the ramp, wheelchair and separate queue for disabled persons and 80+ voters in polling stations, engage and deployment of civil and security forces to prevent any kind of poll violence were discussed in detail. It is mentioned that ECI is launching a pilot project to ensure vote casting of migrant voters.
ECI has developed a multi-constituency remote electronic voting system. Political parties have been invited to view a demonstration of the use of this prototype RVM.
Alpana competition will be held in every assembly constituency of the state on the eve of Pous Sankranti on the theme of a peaceful, free and fair election. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competition.
A logo has been created for the Tripura Assembly Election, 2023.
