May 08, 2018: Tripura is heavily affected by thunderstorm. Nearly 8000 people are shifted in different relief camps across the State. Assured basic amenities (food, drinking water, medical facilities & electricity ) in all relief camps. Personally visiting each and every camp to check arrangements, commented Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb in a tweet after visiting storm affected Lefunga area under Mohanpur sub-division in West District today.
During his visit, Deb went to relief camp set up at Lefunga Higher Secondary School in which 1496 storm affected people of 238 families took shelter. He also visited relief camps at Madhuchoudhury Para Higher Secondary School and Maikhar Bari Junior Basic School. After interacting with affected people, the Chief Minister directed the concerned Officers to ensure availability of basic amenities and medical help at all the relief camps.
Administration has already arranged adequate supply of potable water, electricity, food and medical facilities. As an interim relief, affected families were given Rs 7000 each. Storm raged down several houses, in such a situation affected families will get Rs 95 thousand. He instructed administration to ensure speedy disbursement of compensation to affected families.
