Agartala, January 02, 2020: After repeated notices failed to evoke any response, Tripura Natural Gas Corporation (TNGCL) today snapped gas connection from state’s biggest referral hospital – GBP Hospital, reportedly, due to non-payment of monthly bills, confirmed a TNGCL official on condition of anonymity.
The move immediately stopped cooking food in GBP Kitchen which run on TNGCL gas. The GBP authority was tight lipped and it remained uncertain till the report filing as to when the gas supply would be restored. According to available reports, outstanding Bill amounts to Rs 4 lakh.
Notably, TNGCL has already launched gas supply disconnection drive for ‘bad connections’ and before snapping GBP gas line, the organization reportedly served several notices. However, it is alleged, no one from GBP hospital management contacted TNGCL officials to settle the issue.
“Lackluster attitude of the Hospital Management is responsible for present situation – in which, Hospital canteen had to stop cooking due to gas supply disconnection putting thousand of patients in peril”, sources alleged.
