Agartala, December 23, 2019: A 21-year old youth from Tripura – Arunabha Chakraborty secured 1st position among the 127 officers in Indian Air Force flying officers pilot course. Arunabha received the ‘sword of honour’ from Air chief marshal at Air Force Academy Hyderabad on December 21 last.
Arunabha Chakraborty was commissioned into the Fighters Stream of Indian Air Force. He had a total of 130 hours of flying experience till now on Pilatus aircraft. He was a part of the Passing out Parade for his graduation at AFA held on December 21 last, where he commanded the parade and also was awarded the President’s plaque, awarded the prestigious Sword of Honour for first in order of merit in the pilot course.
Arunabha is the son of PWD Executive Engineer, Jagabandhu Chakraborty and Alaka Bhattacharya, a homemaker. He attended early schooling in Sishu Bihar School upto 7th standard and shifted to RIMC, Dehradun. For his immense passion of serving the nation, he later took admission in National Defence Academy, Pune. He was selected for the pilot training and completed his course in Air Force Academy, Hyderabad. His elder sister Anirmita Chakraborty is an Engineering graduate and is presently working at a private firm in Hyderabad.
