For upcoming TTAADC polls, BJP held State-level strategic meet even as talks on alliance with the IPFT for TTAADC Polls are still to get a concrete shape

Agartala, Feb 29, 2020: Keeping an eye on upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) polls, saffron party is getting ready to go solo. In Tripura, BJP has an alliance with regional tribal based IPFT. Despite the alliance, both the BJP and IPFT fought last Lok Sabha Polls separately. As talks on alliance with the IPFT for TTAADC Polls are still to get a concrete shape, both the parties are getting ready on their own to fight it out in the TTAADC elections.
Whereas the IPFT is working to strengthen its base for better results, the ruling BJP is reluctant to disclose anything related to poll planning . On being asked on the pre-poll alliance with the IPFT, BJP state chief Dr. Manik Saha said, “the matter is under discussion and talks are going on regarding the issue.”
BJP holds State level meet
The ruling BJP has today organized a state level meeting of party workers and rural leaders in order to chalk out plans for the polls.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, MP Pratima Bhowmik, MP Rebati Tripura, Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Barma and BJP party minder Fanindra Nath Sharma also spoke on the occasion. According to party insiders, focus has been laid on the internal party issues. “All the leaders in the closed door session asked the party leaders to shoulder responsibility of ensuring victory. State leaders have been also given separate areas to settle the internal issues”, the source said.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb is reported to have stressed on the active participation of grass root level leaders and asked them to come out with specific suggestions regarding the prospective candidates, strength and weak points of the party so that corrective and booster measures can be taken before the ADC polls.
BJP Tripura State President says
Speaking to media in the sidelines of the meeting, Dr. Saha also said, members from all wings of the party and leaders from all the districts have arrived in the meeting to so that we can have a thorough discussion on the party’s projected agenda for the forthcoming polls.
“We have altogether 47/48 constituencies in the ADC areas with all the districts sharing area with ADC. Representatives from every constituency including general secretaries and district presidents have come here to participate in the meeting. President of Janajati Morcha will also address the gathering”, he added.
On the agenda of the meeting, he said, “The first priority of the party is the ensuing polls to the ADC areas. All the party functionaries are trying wholeheartedly to project the development activities being carried out by the government. Negative role of the previously ruling Left in terms of development will be also projected before the voters to catch their attention. This precursor meeting has been organized to exchange views with the direct contacts of the party in rural areas so that we can settle the issues they are facing to carry forward party’s agenda in the state”.
