ProMASS: Jan 22, 2017: Troubles brewing in Manipur as the United Naga Council (UNC) has called a boycott of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations. A UNC statement warned that any Naga participating in the functions should be doing it at his own risk. Notably, UNC is continuing indefinite blockade at NH in Manipur seriously affecting vehicular movement.
News agencies reported, most of the outlawed organisations in the north east have also called for a boycott.
Meanwhile, Police forces are maintaining a tight vigil and have launched combing operations at several places to ensure an incident-free Republic Day in Manipur.
Sources said, four activists of the NSCN-IM faction were arrested on Saturday in Noney district along with some explosives.Police said their plan was to attack with the explosives trucks which are bringing essential commodities along NH 37.
