Dharmanagar (Tripura) Jun 6: People of Dharmanagar witnessed a remarkable spectacle as they observe a unique spiritual event — the “Dhammayatra.” Organized with the purpose of promoting world peace, mental well-being, and universal prosperity, this march stretched from the International Maitri Setu in Sabroom, South Tripura, to Manu Bandarghata in Dharmanagar, North Tripura.
Buddhist monks from various states of India and neighboring countries participated in this extensive journey. Their core message was “Walking Meditation for Well-being and World Peace.” Through silent footsteps, meditation, and prayers, the monks spread the light of peace, humanity, and compassion.
Throughout the journey, they carried the Indian national flag and the Buddhist flag, symbolizing the unity of national and spiritual values. People lined the streets of the town to warmly welcome the monks, offering water and fruits as gestures of hospitality, while others joined them with pure hearts to share the message of peace.
The participants began the march with vibrant rituals, banners, and Buddhist chants, transforming the procession into a moving meditation festival. An atmosphere of profound peace and sanctity permeated the entire route. The Dhammayatra was not merely a religious event but a social and humanitarian call, serving as a source of light amid the growing unrest of the modern world.
Speeches were delivered by various Buddhist spiritual leaders and peace-loving citizens, emphasizing that “such spiritual initiatives offer a ray of hope in an era of material competition and mental unrest. They sow the seeds of peace, empathy, and humanity in people’s consciousness.”

According to the participants, the Dhammayatra is not just a one-day event but a lasting practice of peace, meditation, and human consciousness that will continue to positively influence minds and society for years to come.
