Agartala, April 15, 2020: The first Corona positive patient of Tripura – a female patient – has been discharged today and put into institutional quarantine facility. She was discharged after three consecutive tests for the virus showed negative results. The female patient was under treatment at GB Hospital of Agartala, said Tripura Health Secretary Debasish Basu.
“The female patient underwent three successive tests and reports of all of these tests were negative. After discharge, the patient will be put in institutional quarantine facility”, Basu said.
Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also confirmed the recovery of the patient in his social media handles.
“Glad to share that first #COVID19 positive patient of Tripura has been discharged today, as she has recovered and found negative in consecutive tests. She has been sent for institutional quarantine for 14 days under medical supervision at Udaipur. I Pray to Mata Tripurasundari so that State turns Corona free soon”, the Chief Minister tweeted.

As of now, two persons have tested positive for novel coronavirus in Tripura. On April 10 last, Tripura reported its second case in which one a TSR Jawan was tested positive.
According to the health authorities, the person had travelled along with first COVID positive case in train. In the aftermath, Tripura government had decided to conduct a sample test of all the 769 people shifted quarantine.
