ProMASS News Bureau: Sep 28, 2016: Elephant death is causing growing concern for various environmentalists. In Odisha, as many as 393 elephants have died during the last five years till September this year. Forests and Environment Minister of Odisha Bikram Keshari Arukh said on Sep 27 informed the State Assembly. He also said that the State government was developing 14 identified elephant corridors spreading over 870 sq km. In response to a question of BJD MLA Amar Prasad Satpathy, the Minister said most of the deaths occurred during 2015-16 and 2012-13 with 81 elephants killed during that time.
