ProMASS News Bureau: Sep 24, 2016: In Telangana, four columns of army personnel and a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have began relief operations in the rain ravaged Hyderabad. The forces have been moved to Nizampet, Hakimpet, Alwal and Begumpet in the capital city. Several residential colonies are under a sheet of water for the past four days following incessant rains. The forces are deployed along with boats, all kinds of relief operations, food and medicines.
Meanwhile, met officials warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at many places across the state today. The authorities are considering to evacuate more vulnerable places to avoid any untoward incident.
Due to heavy rains in the catchment areas, almost all reservoirs on River Krishna and Godavari have reached to full capacity after many years. As a result heavy inflows are being released downstream from Singur, Kaddem, Sriram Sagar, Ellempalli, Musi, and Pulichintala projects in the state.
