ProMASS Jan 21, 2017: Election Commission has censured Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for violating Model Code of Conduct. Kejriwal has been censured because while addressing a public meeting at Goa, he reportedly toad voters that they should accept money. The Commission said, Kejriwal’s reply has not been found convincing. In its order, the Commission observed that Mr Kejriwal had made remarks to the effect of promoting or abetting bribery to the electors Goa public rally.
Earlier during Delhi Assembly Polls, Mr Kejriwal was warned for making similar comments but it did not refrain him. The Commission said, if Kejriwal violates Model Code of Conduct again, stern action will be taken against him. Kejriwal seems to be in no mood to accept EC’s censure easily as he tweeted the order against him is completely wrong. He also mentioned, lower court had earlier given order in his favor. But Commission has ignored the court’s order, he said.
