Ruling NPF President Shurhozelie Liezitsu set to become Nagaland CM

Feb 20, 2017: Ruling Naga People’s Front (NPF) Legislature Party meeting has concluded at Kohima to elect a new leader following the resignation of Nagaland Chief Minister TR Zeliang. Sources said, Party President Shurhozelie Liezitsu has been unanimously chosen leader of the legislature party. Former Chief Minister and sole MP from the state Neiphiu Rio, who was being considered a front-runner for the Chief Ministership, is not likely to succeed, sources said. The NPF Legislature Party meeting will be followed by a meeting of Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) in Kohima.
