Mar 11, 2017: Saffron wave has claimed UP and Uttarakhand while Tri-color is vivid in Punjab. In Manipur and Goa, both BJP and Congress fighting it neck-and-neck.
In UP, BJP is all set to form Government after a gap of 15 years as the Party is inching forward to three-fourth majority. In a thumping victory for brand Modi, Uttrakhand too have given a clear mandate in favour of BJP. According to latest reports, BJP leading in 302 out of 404 Assembly seats in UP while, Uttrakhand pins hope of BJP offering leads in 54 seats out 70 seats. Punjab is all set to dethrone SAD and Congress led by Captain Amrinder Singh is leading in 75 seats, way ahead of clear majority in 117 Assembly seats.
Explaining Assembly Poll results in UP and Punjab, one of the Senior Journalists of Tripura, Manas Paul commented, “Whatever you say, I must claim Captain Amrinder Singh stands apart today..and tall. He virtually fought alone in Punjab while Rahul Gandhi who dedicated all his campaign and time in UP not only proved one more time a total failure, inefficient and incompetent but also took Akhilesh down with him– of course, the Mushal Parv, had a bearing and tearing on the Yadav satrap too …”
Meanwhile, Smiriti Irani of BJP labelled Priyanka as ‘Paper tigress’ after BJP led by PM Modi scored a big win in UP.
The big news in Goa is that incumbent Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar of BJP losses his seat while his Deputy Francis D’Souza wins. So far, Congress established lead in 12 seats closely chased by BJP in 11 in 40 seat Assembly.
BJP is leading in 17 seats as against 15 for Congress in Manipur. Incumbent CM Okram Ibobi Singh of Congress wins while ‘Iron Lady’ of Manipur Irom Sharmila tastes defeat.
