Mar 12, 2017: Jubilant BJP leadership is now gearing up for selecting Chief Minister in Uttrakhand after impressive show in Assembly elections. The BJP Central Parliamentary Board will meet in national capital New Delhi today to appoint observer for the election of Uttarakhand Chief Minister.
Party sources in Dehradun said, the observer would fix the date for meeting of newly elected party legislatures. The observer will talk to each legislature on the issue and then the leader would be elected.
In the political history of Uttrakhand, it is for the first time that any party has got three fourth majority in the assembly.
Riding on the Narendra Modi wave the BJP got total 46.5 percent vote share while only one percent voters used NOTA option. According to available information, the BJP candidate emerged victorious with highest margin of 36,771 votes in Raipur constituency.
