Rashtriya Kala Utsav 2025: Hojagiri Steals Show, State Bags 3rd Spot
Pune/Agartala Dec 25: Tripura has secured the third position at the National Level Kala Utsav – 2025 (Rashtriya Kala Utsav -2025).
The event was held at the Yashwantrao Chavan Academy of Development Administration (YASHADA) in Pune. In the event, Tripura’s young talent shine on a prestigious national platform.
The competition, held from December 20th to 24th, 2025, brought together student performers from across India.
Tripura’s contingent stood out by showcasing the state’s deep-rooted heritage through a masterclass in traditional folk art.
Hojagiri Performance Steals the Spotlight
The national honor of bagging the 3rd Spot was clinched by a talented troupe from Chandrapur Higher Secondary School in the Gomati District.
The team, comprising Shilpa Reang, Sanita Reang, Siluta Reang, and Parmaiti Reang, delivered a mesmerizing Hojagiri folk dance performance.

Known for its requirement of incredible balance and rhythmic precision, the Hojagiri rendition by the students was lauded by the judges for its authenticity and grace, eventually earning the state the National Third Rank.
CM’s Commendation
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha took to social media and official channels to celebrate the victory. He emphasized that the achievement has brought immense pride to the state.
“Our students have once again brought laurels to Tripura. Their exceptional artistry and balance in the Hojagiri dance were truly worthy of national recognition. This success showcases the rich cultural tapestry of our state to the entire country,” Dr. Saha stated.
A senior state government official remarked that the award is a reflection of the tireless efforts put in by both the students and their mentors.
“This recognition proves the potential of our youth and the vibrant cultural environment we are fostering in our schools,” the official added.
What is Rashtriya Kala Utsav?
