Agartala Feb 2: Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) marked a major milestone in its Golden Jubilee year with the launch of its first-ever Co-Branded RuPay Credit Card in partnership with its sponsor bank, Punjab National Bank (PNB), ushering in a new chapter of digital banking for customers across the state.

With this initiative, Tripura Gramin Bank (TGB) has become the first Regional Rural Bank (RRB) among the eight RRBs sponsored by PNB—and the first RRB in the country—to introduce a Co-Branded RuPay Credit Card. The achievement is being seen as a significant development in the evolution of India’s RRB banking ecosystem.

The landmark product was launched under the leadership of Satyendra Singh, Chairman of Tripura Gramin Bank. Bank officials said the initiative reflects his forward-looking vision and strong emphasis on digital empowerment, financial inclusion, and customer-centric innovation, particularly for rural and semi-urban populations.

The PNB–TGB Co-Branded RuPay Credit Card is expected to enhance access to modern credit facilities while ensuring the reliability and security of the RuPay network. The bank said the product will support inclusive growth by enabling customers to participate more actively in the formal digital economy.

The launch event was attended by several distinguished dignitaries, including Rakhi Biswas, Director (Small Savings, Group Insurance & Institutional Finance), Government of Tripura; Deepak Kumar, General Manager, Public Relations and Credit Card Division, PNB (Head Office); Taufique Alam, MD and CEO, PNB Cards & Services Ltd.; Diganta Kumar Das, Deputy General Manager, NABARD, Tripura Regional Office; and Rituraj Krishna, Deputy General Manager and Circle Head, PNB Circle Office, Agartala.

Senior officials of Tripura Gramin Bank, regional and branch-level executives, marketing teams, representatives from Punjab National Bank and PNB Cards & Services Ltd., along with members of the media, were also present at the ceremony.
