Start-Up Push: NLU Tripura, IT Directorate Sign MoU

Agartala, Feb 12: National Law University (NLU) Tripura and the Directorate of Information Technology, Government of Tripura, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday to strengthen the state’s start-up and innovation ecosystem.

The agreement was formalised during the “Innovation for Growth: Tripura Start-Up & NGIN Meet” held at the Smart Training Centre, IT Bhawan, Agartala.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Government of India, and Kiran Gitte, Secretary, IT, Government of Tripura, along with senior state officials and representatives from the start-up community.

The collaboration aims to foster innovation-driven entrepreneurship through capacity building, legal and regulatory assistance, policy research, and structured training and mentoring programmes.

The initiative is expected to create a supportive framework for emerging entrepreneurs in the state.

Addressing the gathering, Sanjiv Singh underscored the importance of stronger academia–government partnerships in building an inclusive and sustainable innovation ecosystem.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr) Yogesh Pratap Singh said the MoU would enable young entrepreneurs to better navigate legal, regulatory and institutional challenges.

He also appreciated the Government of Tripura for initiating collaborative efforts that would ensure mutual growth and long-term benefits.

Registrar Prof. Nachiketa Mittal and Assistant Registrar Aparajita Banerjee also attended the programme.
