Regional Rajbhasha Sammelan: Tripura Showcases Cultural, Bamboo Heritage
Agartala Feb 20: The International Fair Ground at Hapania is gracefully dressed as Agartala is hosting the Joint Regional Official Language Conference (Rajbhasha Sammelan) today.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the Joint Regional Rajbhasha Sammelan along with MoS Home, Bandi Sanjay Kumar and other dignitaries.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha will attend the event along with Lok Sabha MPs Biplab Kumar Deb and Kriti Singh Debbarma, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, Professor Milan Rani Jamatia of Tripura University, Principal of Nagri Lipi Parishad, Nagaland, Dr B P Philip and Secretary of the Department of Official Language under the Ministry of Home Affairs Anshuli Arya.
The Sammelan has emerged as a major confluence of more than 3,000 participants representing the Eastern, Northeastern and Northern regions, underscoring the Centre’s focus on strengthening the use of Hindi and regional languages in official work.
Exhibition stalls set up at the venue turned into major attractions. Stalls of the Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force and Assam Rifles witnessed a steady stream of visitors, creating an atmosphere marked by patriotism and appreciation for the services of security personnel.

Stalls put by the State Government departments also generated interests among the participants.
Stalls set up by Tribal Welfare Department, Bunkar Seva Kendra, Purbasha, State Agriculture Department, Bamboo and Cane Development Institute (BCDI), One District One Product (Sepahijala) highlighted cultural heritage and Bamboo products of Tripura.
The bamboo made products of the ‘One District One Product’ stall is another stall that generated noticeable curiosity among the v ccparticipants. Purbasha stall also witnessed Good footfalls.

Participants also crowded Tribal Welfare Department stall and showed interests in the history and heritage of Tripura. Rajmala and cultural heritage of different Janajati communities.
The inauguration of the conference deferred till 4pm.
