Furthermore, all officials have been encouraged to complete at least four hours of learning through guided and self-paced modules during the week.

The programme is part of the National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building. It aims to foster a culture of continuous professional development and improve governance outcomes.

Through these efforts, the Directorate seeks to enhance technical, managerial, and functional capabilities. Ultimately, the initiative is expected to improve service delivery and promote efficient, transparent governance in the state.

What is Sadhana Saptah 2026?

In a first-of-its-kind move, the Capacity Building Commission will launch Sadhana Saptah 2026 from April 2 to April 8. The initiative marks one of the largest collaborative capacity-building exercises across India’s civil services.

Sadhana Saptah, which stands for Strengthening Adaptive Development and Humane Aptitude for National Advancement, aims to transform governance through skill development. It will bring together Central Ministries, Departments and Organisations, along with States and Union Territories. In addition, more than 250 Civil Services Training Institutions will join the effort.

Moreover, civil servants across the country will take part in structured training programmes. These programmes will focus on building competencies needed to achieve the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

Importantly, the initiative seeks to unify capacity-building efforts nationwide. For the first time, ministries, states, and training institutions will follow a common thematic framework. Earlier, such efforts remained limited to individual departments. However, Sadhana Saptah expands the scope and creates a nationwide learning movement.

Meanwhile, officials from all levels will participate in the programme. This includes early-career officers as well as senior leadership. They will engage with shared themes aimed at promoting responsive and citizen-centric governance.

The week-long programme will follow three core principles—Technology, Tradition, and Tangible Outcomes.

Accordingly, various learning activities have been planned. These include webinars, workshops, and Samuhik Charcha sessions. Additionally, curated courses will be available on the iGOT Karmayogi platform in multiple Indian languages, including Hindi.

It may be noted, the programme coincides with two key milestones. It aligns with the Foundation Day of the Capacity Building Commission. At the same time, it marks five years of Mission Karmayogi.

Overall, the initiative is expected to strengthen governance by promoting continuous learning and collaboration across India’s civil services ecosystem.
