The Jewel Club of Dhajanagar is celebrating the 60th year of its Durga Puja with a theme centred on Goddess Shakambhari. The club is among the established Puja organisers in Udaipur subdivision.

This year’s concept, Shree Charaneshu, draws on the sacrifices and contributions of a father who silently bears the responsibilities of family life. The organisers aim to portray the emotional bond between a father and his family through the pandal’s presentation.

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy will inaugurate the celebrations on Maha Panchami evening. Abhishek Debroy, MLA from the Mata Tripura Sundari constituency, will attend as the chief guest.

The organisers have recreated elements of the famous temple’s architectural style through detailed decoration and artistic craftsmanship. Scenes depicting the various leelas of Lord Krishna add a devotional dimension to the presentation.

The club expects the combination of temple-inspired architecture, religious themes and striking illumination to make the pandal a major attraction in Chebri during the festival.

Community Participation Remains Central to the Celebrations

Across the featured Puja committees, the celebrations extend beyond pandal decoration and religious rituals. Clothing distribution, educational assistance, blood donor recognition, tree plantation and cultural programmes reflect the organisers’ focus on community participation.

The different themes also offer visitors varied experiences, from the architectural inspiration of temples in Dubai and Mayapur to the emotional narrative of family responsibility and the worship of Goddess Shakambhari.

With their preparations reaching the final stages or their inaugurations completed, the organisers expect the pandals and accompanying programmes to draw devotees and visitors throughout the festival. Their initiatives aim to preserve the religious spirit of Durga Puja while strengthening social bonds and spreading the message of harmony and shared celebration.
