Rahul Gandhi to take over as Congress President today

December 16, 2017: Rahul Gandhi will take over as Congress President today. He will succeed Mrs Sonia Gandhi, who steered the party for 19 years after becoming the President in 1998.

Mr Gandhi will receive a formal certificate of being elected the Congress president unopposed today in New Delhi. The party’s central election authority will give the certificate to Mr Gandhi. Now, Mrs Gandhi is expected to continue to head the Congress Parliamentary Party. (AIR News)
