December 18, 2017: The BJP is set to retain Gujarat for fifth consecutive term while snatching Himachal Pradesh from Congress. Interestingly, beating the saffron wave, CPIM candidate secured victory in Teog Assembly Constituency.
After giving an initial scare, Congress trailed back and as per available trend, BJP is leading in 108 seats at 12.43pm while Congress is ahead in 73 seats. If the trend continues, BJP, even though retain power, it will be 7 seats short of last term’s performance while Congress will enjoy an addition of 11 seats in Gujarat. For Majority, 92 seats are required.
BJP is set to rout Congress in Himachal Pradesh snatching another State from Congress. In Himachal Pradesh, BJP is leading in 44 seats with a gain of 18 seats and Congress sliced down to only 20 seats as per latest trends available.
