In Jampui Hill, Chapchar Kut is organized every year in all the Villages. This year the Tripura Group YMA and Jampui RD Block have decided to jointly celebrate the festival at a common venue with wide participation anticipated from all Zo-people of Tripura including Halam and Kuki.
It is worth mentioning that the Mizo people has proposed to the State Government during the Left Front Rule on several occasions to officially recognize the Chapchar Kut as one of the official festivals of Tripura but the proposals were turned down till date.
