April 28, 2018: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping resumed their one-on-one talks on the last day of the informal summit in Wuhan. The two leaders began the interaction with a walk along East Lake this morning followed by a boat ride. They will conclude the two-day summit with lunch hosted by President Xi in the honour of Mr Modi today.
During the delegation level talks with the Chinese President yesterday, Mr Modi emphasised the need for cooperation between India and China to maintain peace, stability and prosperity in the world.
The Prime Minister also invited President Xi to a similar informal summit in India in 2019. The Chinese President said, India and China were central pillars for promoting a multi-polar world and good bilateral relation is important to maintain global peace and stability.
Mr Xi said, the growth of China-India relations have maintained good momentum. He said, the two counties need to maintain strong ties and focus on national development, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, work for national revitalisation and make positive contribution for global peace and development.
