In Kailashahar under Unokoti district, thousands were forced to take shelter in relief camps after flood water damaged and broke earthen dam at two places. The situation in Kailashahar is stated to grim and people are panicked.

The situation is threatening to become critical in Amarpur and Udaipur under Gomati district as water level in Damboor lake is swelling. Sources said, presently water level is at 93.25 meter. The Dam authority has already opened a sluice gate and if water level goes up – which is likely if there is more shower, authority will have to pull up another sluice gate. In such a case, large areas under Udaipur and Amarpur will sub-merge under flood water. Owing to possible danger, administration is alerting people using ‘Public Address system’ and getting ready to evacuate people to safer place.
