The state government has submitted an affidavit in response to an Apex Court notice clearing its version on the terminated 10323 ad hoc teachers’ issue. In the affidavit, the government has, in detail, apprised the Supreme Court of State government’s thinking over re-absorbing the retrenched teachers in several other departments, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath told the media today.
The Education Minister informed media that the Apex Court served a notice on June 19 last asking the State Government to clarify its planning relating to the terminated 10323 ad hoc teachers. He said the Supreme Court directed the State clarify as to what type benefits the State wants to extend and as to how they these teachers will be given alternative job opportunities.
Detailing on this issue, Nath said, the state government has sought approval from the Court to re-recruit the terminated 10,323 ad hoc teachers as per merit. Also, the State Government has sought relaxations to a certain extent for providing them alternate jobs in Group D, Group C and non-technical posts.
He further said, the state government, has demanded other relaxations from the Court for recruiting the 10323 ad hoc teachers. The State Government has sought permission to recruit them in vacant posts without prior advertisement and age relaxation wherever necessary.
According to Ratan Lal Nath, the affidavit has been filed after considering all the issues related to alternate livelihood options to the 10,323 ad hoc teachers in the state cabinet.
