The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under National Health Mission has taken up a great initiative to bring proper health facilities to the people living in the remote areas of the state. Earlier on September 1, 2020 Tripura Chief Minister inaugurated Lifeline Express at the Sabroom rail station in which a hospital has been set up with modernized health facilities where operation and tests will also be done. People have received health services from Lifeline Express at the Ambassa rail station.
Starting from October 4 to November 5, the doctors and the healthcare workers have provided Glaucoma surgery, ear surgery, plastic surgery, dental treatment and cancer test facilities at the Ambassa rail station.

In a period of one month, total 3,075 patients received treatment in the Lifeline Express. A total of 1,802 patients received optical treatment. 152 patients have undergone Glaucoma surgery, spectacles have been provided to 1,018 people, 59 patients have undergone ear surgery, the hearing aid has been provided to 176 people, 13 patients have undergone plastic surgery, 6 patients have undergone orthopaedic surgery, 541 patients have undergone dental treatment, tests for non-communicable diseases were done for 2,688 people, tests for female diseases and breast cancer were done for 101 people. Total 5,588 patients received treatments from two Lifeline Expresses including Sabroom.

A total of 3,362 patients have undergone optical tests, 297 patients have undergone Glaucoma surgery, 1,811 were provided with spectacles, 80 patients have undergone ear surgery, 345 were provided with hearing aid, 22 patients have undergone plastic surgery, 11 patients have undergone orthopaedic surgery, 920 have received dental treatment, tests for non-communicable diseases were done for 4,949, tests for female diseases and breast cancer were done for 225 people.
To make this programme successful, about 900 ASHA workers have been assigned to make people aware and to provide the health facilities from the Lifeline Express on particular days. Dr. K Reang, member of State Health and Family Welfare Association informed this news in a press release.
