Netaji Subhas Chandra Basu wanted India to make a strong and Independent country. He dedicated himself to the service of British ruled India and joined the freedom struggle even though he successfully completed ICS examination. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this today after inaugurating 125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Basu at Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan ground. He exhorted students to follow the ideals and principles of Netaji.
As part of the celebration, Nath paid tributes to Netaji and unfurled the National Flag as well as the flag of the Azad hind Force. Nath also formally inaugurated the newly constructed three-storied building the Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan. Among others, MP Pratima Bhowmik was also present in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Ratan Lal Nath said, Netaji was inspired by the teachings and ideals of Swami Vivekananda, Sri Aurabindo, Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Das, Biplabi Rashbehari Basu, Rabindra Nath Tagore, Kazi Nazrul Islam and other great personalities of the country.
Nath said, “The Prime Minister has announced that Netaji jayanti would be celebrated across the country as the Prakram Diwas. The Prime Minister also launched a digital Museum at Red Fort displaying unknown information about Netaji, Netaji’s used materials etc. Modi wants Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat and he believes that youths are real resources of the country. If the youths become self reliant, the country would become self sufficient”. He added, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb also taking Tripura forward in this direction. The Education Minister also pointed out that as many as 34 reforms including NCERT syllabus introduction had been brought in the State Education sector.
MP Pratima Bhowmik said, Netaji Subhas is the pride of the country. She said Netaji firmly believed that youths needed to come forward for advancement of the country. The Prime Minister is following the path shown by Netaji and gave a call, ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ to make the country self-sufficient.
This year, people of Agartala missed colourful rally in the morning of January 23 as part of celebration of birth anniversary of Netaji.
“Usually, students of Netaji Subhas Vidyaniketan bring out attaractive tableaux in celebration – however, this year, we have witnessed with agony a break of a tradition in celebrating Netaji’s birth Day”, said one Agartala based veteran.
