In line with Tripura Government’s stress on animal resource development, initiatives have been taken to expand improved veterinary facilities in remote areas and emphasized the development of infrastructure for providing all the related services to people engaged in Animal husbandry, said Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma at Charilam on Wednesday.
The Deputy Chief Minister inaugurated a two-storied veterinary care center at South Charilam today. The Centre was constructed at an expenditure of Rs 53 lakh 8 thousand under Rashtriya Krishi Bikash Yojana. Among others, Minister for Animal Resource Development Bhagaban Das was also present in the programme.
“The State Government is working with a target of setting veterinary care centers with modern facilities in every Gram Panchayat and Village Committee areas”, Dev Varma asserted.
He also dwelt upon the functioning of the Government and said, the Government is committed to fulfil all promises made to the people. The Government is working for the development of the State in line with the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi’s Gram Swaraj.
“The present Government is striding forward with several welfare activities like providing drinking water connection to every household free of cost, women empowerment, imparting quality education to the students, infrastructural development and creating Swanirbhar Parivaar”, Dev Varma said.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Bhagaban Das took a dig at the previous LF government. He said no steps were taken in the past to create earning opportunities from the animal husbandry sector. Due to this, State had to depend on outside supply – however, the incumbent government is working to become self-reliant in the production of eggs, meat and milk etc. The Mukhyamantri Unnata Godhan Scheme is a historic one to this end, Das commented.
