A large number of Muslim devotees in Tripura came together to offer prayers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr at the Gedu Mia Masjid in Agartala on Saturday. The annual festival marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, which involves a month-long fast observed by devout Muslims worldwide.
The Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with great enthusiasm and respect, as the community came together to seek blessings and celebrate the end of the holy month. The congregants were seen praying with devotion and exchanging greetings of “Eid Mubarak,” which translates to “Blessed Eid.” The festival signifies the importance of unity and compassion and brings together people from all walks of life.
The prayers at the Gedu Mia Masjid were conducted by the Imam of the mosque Maulana Abdul Rehman, who stressed the importance of the occasion. He said, “This is a very important occasion. After 30 days of fasting, the Eid-ul-Fitr is celebrated. The celebration sends the message of peace, brotherhood, humanity, and love.”
The festival was celebrated in other parts of Tripura with religious devotion and people of different communities and religions enjoyed the fervour of the festival.
Cooperative Minister of Tripura Shukla Charan Noatia also took part in the Eid celebration in his constituency of Santirbazar and conveyed messages of unity and brotherhood. Several other ministers and dignitaries also conveyed their good wishes marking the occasion.
In Kailashahar under Unakoti district, special Eid prayers were organized in all small and big mosques in different places, including Town Jame Masjid, Tilabazar, Baburbazar, Rangauti, Noorpur, Dhaliarkandi, Kubjhar, Gaurnagar, Bhagwan Nagar, Noorpur, and Safrikandi. All mosques were decorated with lights, and there were no untoward incidents around the Eid festival. Additional security forces were also deployed at various places in Kailashahar to ensure safety.
In different places of the Jampuijala sub-division of Sepahijala district, Eid prayers were offered with due dignity. Secretary of Tripura Rajyik Emarte Shariah and Nadwatut Tamir Maulana Zakir Hossain Aljalili discussed the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr at the Eidgah Maidan, wishing that the joy of Eid-ul-Fitr would bring a message of peace, harmony, and unity among all castes, tribes, Hindus, and Muslims.
The Eid festival was celebrated peacefully in Dharmanagar, with thousands of Muslims gathering for prayers at Dharmanagar’s DNV Road amidst scorching heat. Members of the Dharmanagar Press Club arranged cold drinks in front of Hotel Panchaboti to provide some relief to devotees.
The Eid-ul-FitrĀ festival conveyed the message of peace, brotherhood, humanity, and love among all castes, tribes, Hindus, and Muslims, promoting unity in diversity in the nation.
