Jitendra Choudhury claimed, “The way Britishers looted the country, in the same way, the RSS-backed BJP is looting this country yet again by using the corporate.”
On the occasion of the observance of the 81st anniversary of the ‘Quit India movement’ launched by Mahatma Gandhi in 1942 to liberate India from British rule, CPIM leaders in Tripura launched a scathing attack on the BJP and RSS.
CPIM State Secretary of Tripura, Jitendra Choudhury said that modern India is yearning for the departure of ‘Corporate rule’ and ‘British agents’ from the nation.
A rally was held in Agartala which was organized jointly by the All Indian Kisan Sabha (AIKS) and the Centre of Indian Trade Union (CITU) state committee, marking the commemoration of the ‘Quit India Movement.’
The participants raised the slogan, ‘Corporate lootera Bharat Charo, Khet Charo,’ advocating for the expulsion of corporate influence from the country, from the croplands.
Accusing the RSS-backed BJP of acting as British agents during the 1942 movement and subsequently resuming a form of British rule by inviting corporates to govern the nation, Jitendra Choudhury said, “If the democratic fabric of the country is to be safeguarded, these corporate have to leave India.”
Addressing supporters of the CPIM, AIKS, and CITU in Agartala, Choudhury continued his verbal tirade against the BJP and RSS.
He claimed that while freedom-loving individuals, including communist and Congress leaders, had worked tirelessly during the ‘Quit India’ Movement against British rule, the RSS, now controlling the BJP, had acted as a traitor to those freedom fighters by collaborating with the British.
Drawing a parallel between British colonial exploitation and the present-day BJP’s alleged collaboration with corporate, Jitendra Choudhury claimed, “The way Britishers looted the country, in the same way, the RSS-backed BJP is looting this country yet again by using the corporate.”
Choudhury further accused the BJP-led government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of favoring large corporations and disregarding the interests of daily laborers, farmers, and other marginalized communities. He claimed that the BJP’s alignment with corporations like Adani and Ambani was polluting the sanctity of the parliament.
In his call for action, Choudhury urged for a united struggle against corporate rule in order to protect India’s democracy.
