“Keeping this in mind, I suggested to the Union Minister of Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnab, that it would be beneficial to consider adding another train to Deoghar and he agreed that one more train to Deoghar will be started in the state very soon”, the MoS commented.
Union Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnab in New Delhi on Saturday and highlighted several rail connectivity-related issues.
The Union MoS drew the attention of Vaishnab regarding the introduction of another train in the Agartala-Deoghar route. She also urged connecting Guwahati with Agartala through dedicated train services. Besides, Bhoumik also put forward proposals for introducing train services connecting Agartala with the Vrindavan Dham and Puri.
In a Facebook Post, Bhoumik wrote that she went to Satsang Vihar and met reverend Sri Sri Babai Da who asked her to arrange another train from Tripura to Deoghar.
She also said the only train currently operating to Deoghar is weekly, which means devotees have to wait at least seven days to return to Agartala.
“Keeping this in mind, I suggested to the Union Minister of Railways, Shri Ashwini Vaishnab, that it would be beneficial to consider adding another train to Deoghar and he agreed that one more train to Deoghar will be started in the state very soon”, the MoS commented.
She further pointed out that many devotees from Tripura visit Vrindavan and Jagannath Dham Puri. For the convenience of the devotees, she requested the Union Railway Minister to start at least one weekly train connecting these places with Agartala.
Besides, since there is currently no dedicated train service operating between Agartala and Guwahati, the MoS appealed to Ashwini Vaishnab to establish train connectivity along this route.
“In response, the Union Railway Minister swiftly instructed officials to promptly organize a demonstration train service along the Agartala-Guwahati route”, Bhoumik said and added, this initiative stands to be advantageous for the state’s business community, has the potential to enhance tourist inflow, and will also be favorable for students from the state who journey to Guwahati for various examinations.
