Indian gymnastics superstar, Dipa Karmakar of Tripura, vaulted her way into the finals of her favored event, the vaulting table, at the World Gymnastics Championships. The championships, taking place in Cairo, Egypt from February 15-18, will see Karmakar vying for a medal on Saturday.
Padma Shri awardee, Dipa Karmakar, showcased an impressive performance in the qualifying round, securing a third-place finish with a score of 13.449 points. Her commendable performance earned Karmakar a coveted spot in the finals.
Joining Karmakar in the finals is fellow Indian gymnast, Pranati Nayak, who also put up a strong show in the qualifiers, finishing seventh.
Dipa’s coach, Dronacharya Bisheshwar Nandi, expressed confidence in her abilities, and said that she would return home with a medal from the world championships.
Dipa also shared her confidence and optimism and said she would be looking forward to a successful performance in the finals.
As the competition progresses, fans are eagerly awaiting Karmakar’s golden performance in the finals. The stage is set for an exciting showdown at the gymnasium this Saturday.
