The State Committee of CPIM came heavily on the tripartite agreement signed between the Central government, State government and TIPRA Motha Party (TMP) in New Delhi on Saturday.

The CPIM urged the people especially the TMP supporters ‘not to fall into the trap of this heinous deception’.

In a statement said, “The agreement does not mention anything specific regarding the overall development of Tripura. It does not mention any specific plans or programs that will be implemented to improve the lives of the people of Tripura”.

It further said, “The agreement also does not make any specific promises regarding the granting of more power and money to the TTAADC. It does not mention any specific changes that will be made to the TTAADC’s powers or budget”.

Continuing criticizing the tripartite agreement, CPIM State Committee said, the agreement is vague and does not provide any concrete details.

It is unclear when and how the agreement will be implemented. There is no timeline or budget for the implementation of the agreement.

The Leftists in Tripura alleged, the tripartite agreement is similar to the agreement that was reached between the BJP and IPFT before the 2018 assembly elections.

Even though the Empowered (Modality) Committee as per the agreement with the IPFT was formed, the committee has not submitted any report even after five years.

According to the CPIM the agreement is to deceive the people of Tripura before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

“It is a public version of the secret agreement that was made between the BJP and the Tipra Motha before the last assembly elections’, the Left Parties commented.

It alleged, false promises were made in the name of forming Tipraland in the 2018 assembly elections. For the past 6 years, the BJP government has launched a multi-pronged attack to cripple the ADC.

The BJP and the Tipra Motha have jointly prepared another fraudulent document in the name of agreement letter to win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The CPIM Tripura State Committee cautioned the people of all parts of the state, especially the tribal people, not to fall into the trap of this heinous deception.
