Gandhi on 3-day Tripura Tour

During his three-day tour to Tripura, Gandhi arrived in Tripura on Monday, separately met Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha and Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan and discussed the India-Bangladesh border-related issues.

He also paid homage to the brave martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.

The ADG was briefed by the frontier IG on operational preparedness and key strategic matters.

As part of his itinerary, ADG Gandhi visited a number of border deployed units to assess the ground situation and interact with field commanders and jawans.

The spokesman said that the paramilitary troops have enhanced vigil and intensified their domination along the International Border since the violence in Bangladesh began in June-July last year, especially after the fall of the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina-led Awami League government on August 5, 2024.
