Rs 40 crore Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana approved for Tripura

Agartala, Nov 21: Tripura’s rural transformation continues to accelerate as TRLM rolls out multiple livelihood development missions designed to position the state as a future-ready hub for community-based enterprise, digital skilling, and poverty elimination.

20th Saras Mela

The upcoming Saras Mela, scheduled for mid-December, will showcase the next generation of rural entrepreneurship with thousands of SHG women preparing to market local products, crafts, and food innovations.

A state-level review led by CEO TRLM Tarit Kanti Chakma IAS is underway to finalize the inauguration date in consultation with the Chief Minister’s office.

Meantime, in a major development, the Ministry of Rural Development has approved the Rs 40 crore Samaveshi Aajeevika Yojana, set to uplift 8,000 economically vulnerable households across Dhalai and North Tripura.

The three-year initiative, supported by onboarding assistance from the Nudge Team, aims to expand income options and create structured livelihood pathways through community institutions.

The approval follows a detailed presentation by CEO T K Chakma before the national Executive Committee.

TRLM has also launched Samriddhi 2.0 on Wednesday November 19, a high-speed credit enablement campaign targeting Rs 181 crore in loan sanctions within just 40 days.

The programme aims to deliver 6,000 group loans and 1,500 individual loans, accelerating capital inflow into rural markets.

Senior officials from state administration, NABARD, and banking institutions attended the formal launch event.

In an X post, TRLM wrote, this initiative follows the record achievement of Samriddhi 1.0, which approved Rs 198 crore in only 37 days.

TRIPTI

Another key initiative, Project TRIPTI, is redefining poverty elimination models through the Graduation Approach.

With a Rs 15 crore budget, the project focuses on Ambassa, Ganganagar, and Dasda blocks.

It has already empowered 4,000 vulnerable families with direct livelihood financing, business asset support, financial inclusion, government linkages, and community-based training.

Household incomes have risen by up to Rs 20,000 annually, indicating strong progress toward sustainable asset-based development.

At the same time, TRLM is investing in future-driven workforce development.

SHG women are currently undergoing advanced food, hospitality, and service management training at the State Institute of Hotel Management in Agartala.

Upon completion, trainees will be equipped to launch food courts, retail shops, catering outlets, and micro-enterprise ventures, supporting a new service-sector ecosystem in the state.

According to informed sources, Tripura is rapidly emerging as a model for futuristic rural transformation in India with simultaneous investments in skills, credit access, enterprise development, market platforms, and targeted poverty reduction.
