January 05, 2018: The Budget Session of Parliament will be convened from 29th of this month.
Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) met in New Delhi today and recommend to the President to convene the session.
After the meeting, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar told reporters in New Delhi that President will address the joint sitting of the both houses on the opening day.
The budget will be presented on 1st of next month.
The Winter Session of the Parliament concluded on Friday.
Adjourning the Lok Sabha, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said, the House passed several bills including the historic
Triple Talaq and Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code during the session.
In his valedictory remarks, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu said, the House could have done better though it transacted some important business.
Later, briefing reporters, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar termed the Winter Session as very productive.
However, he accused the Congress of adopting double standards on Triple Talaq Bill.
He expressed hope that the Bill will be passed in the forthcoming Budget Session. (AIR News)
