May 06, 2018: Campaigning for Karnataka election in full swing; PM accuses Congress of twisting history for its vote bank politics in Chitradurga rally; Addressing second rally at Raichur, PM Says Congress is anti – development party and owes an explanation to the nation on why it is not letting Parliament function; Congress and JDS too intensify their poll campaign.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a campaign trail in poll bound Karnataka on Sunday. Addressing a public meeting at Chitradurga, the Prime Minister said that the land of Chitradurga is synonymous with the mantra of – Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan and Jai Vigyan.

He said Chitradurga is soon going to become the hotspot of science and technology in the country. Remembering the last ruler of Chitradurga Madakari Nayaka and the bravery of Obavva, PM Modi slammed Congress for the policy of appeasement. He accussed Congress of twisting the history for vote bank politics.

The Prime Minister criticised the Congress party for dynastic politics and sidelining great personalities who played key role in nation building including Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The Prime Minister accussed Congress of showing apathy towards the backward and deprived sections of the society.

Prime Minister also addressed a rally in Raichur where he attacked Congress accusing it of dividing the society. He said that the party has done nothing for the development of Karnataka while BJP is the one that works for development. PM Modi called upon people to throw Congress out of the power.

Addressing a public meeting at Karnataka’s Belagavi, BJP President Amit Shah said that the silence of Siddaramaih over political violence will bring defeat upon their party.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamaiya has exuded confidence that Congress will emerge victorious in the state assembly polls as his government has done a lot for the development of Karnataka and welfare of people. Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, Siddharamaiya attacked BJP for ongoing income tax raids in the state. He said that the timing of the raids during elections is questionable.

Attacking Yeddyurappa and Kumaraswamy, Siddharamaiya said that both the leaders are claiming that they would come to power, but said that none of them have won in many crucial constituencies. He added that Congress will come back to power in with full majority. (DD News)
