Himachal Pradesh 3-tier Panchayat Poll results show that CPI-M has done remarkably well. Sources inform, CPI-M has bagged 7 seats in Zilla Parishad and 4 seats in Block Panchayat so far. The Party has also won in 14 Panchayat Pradhan and 10 Panchayat Upa-pradhan seats.
Notably, CPI-M has a stronghold in Simla area and the Party won in Assembly Polls from the Simla seats couple of times earlier. In last civic poll, CPI-M won Mayor and Deputy Mayor posts in Simla. However, 3-tier Panchayat Poll results indicate that Party is also spreading its clout in rural areas of Himachal Pradesh.
Considering the present situation of Party in West Bengal, the results in Himachal Pradesh is expected to act like a morale booster, said a party insider in Tripura on condition of anonymity. Presently, Tripura is the only Left ruled State in India. In recently concluded civic Poll, CPI-M has successfully whitewashed the Congress, BJP and Trinamool along with local tribal organizations. The Party, in Tripura, has maintained its support base intact amongst the tribal population as well as non-tribal population. Despite poor connectivity with mainland and lack of proper infrastructure, Tripura has emerged as most literate State in the country. Both UPA and BJP Govt has awarded Tripura Govt for its remarkable success in implementation of MGNREGA.
