Speaking at the Chennai event, Union Minister of State L. Murugan highlighted the scale of the employment initiative, stating, “As PM Modi promised, we have provided jobs to 10 lakh youths within a year. Today, 250 appointment letters were given out at ICF Chennai alone. This reflects our government’s commitment to youth empowerment and national progress.”
Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also lauded the employment campaign, recalling how the Prime Minister had pledged nearly two years ago to accelerate recruitment across nearly 30 lakh sanctioned government posts. “Thanks to that pledge, over 10 lakh appointments have been made so far,” he affirmed.
The Prime Minister, addressing the country via video conference, reiterated the broader vision behind the Rozgar Mela: “This is more than a job distribution drive. It’s a movement to strengthen governance by empowering our youth. Every appointee today is a vital part of India’s growth story.” He explained that these appointments span key departments including Railways, Home Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Posts, Labour and Employment, and Financial Services.
In his address, PM Modi painted a compelling picture of how each recruit will contribute to the nation’s advancement. “Some of you will power the Railways, others will secure our borders or deliver services to the remotest villages through the Postal Department. Many will support public health, ensure financial inclusion, or foster industrial development,” he said. “Though your departments differ, your mission is one—service to the people and commitment to the nation.”
Celebrations also rang loud in Guwahati, where Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and local MP Bijuli Kalita Medhi oversaw the distribution of 233 appointment letters. In Bengaluru, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje handed out letters to jubilant candidates. From every corner of the country came heartfelt expressions of gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Central Government for providing stable, dignified employment.

The Prime Minister underscored India’s unparalleled youth power and democratic vibrancy. “India’s young population is our greatest asset. Our government is committed to transforming this demographic strength into developmental momentum,” he said.
He also referenced his recent diplomatic tour, noting the global acknowledgment of Indian talent: “During my five-nation visit, the world recognized the strength of India’s youth. Every agreement signed will open new doors for Indian professionals.”
Since its inception on October 22, 2022, the Rozgar Mela has emerged as a flagship programme under PM Modi’s vision for employment-driven growth. By fast-tracking recruitment across ministries, the initiative not only fills long-standing vacancies but also improves service delivery in essential public institutions such as schools, hospitals, police stations, and financial bodies.
With more than 10 lakh appointment letters already issued under this initiative, the Rozgar Mela continues to light the path of progress for India’s youth—fusing their personal ambitions with the nation’s aspirations.
