The Hapania International Fair Ground in Agartala is set to host the 35th Tripura Industrial and Trade Fair, which will run from January 29 to February 12.
As part of the Trade Fair, Destination Tripura Business conclave will be conducted on February 7-8 to attract investment.
Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha will inaugurate the event in a grand ceremony scheduled for 5 pm on the opening day.
Over 500 Stalls for entrepreneurs:
Industry and Commerce Minister of Tripura Santana Chakma announced during a press conference on Wednesday that the event would feature 515 stalls.
Out of these, 337 stalls will highlight the work of local entrepreneurs, while 114 will be allocated to national-level exhibitors.
Like previous year, the fair will also spotlight a range of cutting-edge technologies, including startups, drone technology, electric vehicles, and automated machinery.
Participants include government offices, public sector undertakings (PSUs), private organizations, and traders. This blend of innovation and entrepreneurship aims to attract both local and global attention.
Focus on Investment Through Destination Tripura Business Conclave :
A major highlight of this year’s fair is the 'Destination Tripura Business Conclave', scheduled for February 7 and 8 at a private hotel in Agartala. This initiative aims to position Tripura as a premier investment destination in Northeast India.
The conclave is expected to attract more than 150 potential investors from across the country and within the state. Key sectors such as tourism, information technology, education, and health services will be the focus of discussions and presentations.
Anticipated Economic Impact:
Minister Santana Chakma shared that last year’s 34th Industrial and Trade Fair generated business worth Rs 6.28 crore. She expressed optimism about surpassing that figure this year, given the broader scope and enhanced participation.
“This fair is not just about showcasing products but also about fostering innovation and trade collaborations,” she said, emphasizing the government’s commitment to strengthening Tripura’s business ecosystem.
Notably, after a successful conduct of the Saras Mela at the same venue, the 35th Tripura Industrial and Trade Fair is expected to benefit the local entrepreneurs in manufacturing innovative products as well as enhancing their marketing skills.
Moreover, the fair is set to feature an impressive lineup of exhibitors, including renowned names from national and local markets.
According to informed sources, this year's Destination Tripura Business Conclave assumes a lot of significance especially after recent political developments in neighbouring Bangladesh.
This Business conclave will provide the Industry Department a platform to attract investment in tourism and bamboo based cottage industries.
The 35th Tripura Industrial and Trade Fair, with its diverse offerings and the conduct of the Destination Tripura Business conclave, aims to bolster Tripura’s position as a key economic player in the Northeast, Industry Department sources said.
