CM Manik Saha Inaugurates Tripura Sundari Utsav, Highlights Matabari Temple's Transformation

The Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur is a sacred place of worship and faith for devotees, traditionalists, and the pious. It is one of the most prominent religious tourism destinations. People from across the country and the world visit this Tripura Sundari Temple throughout the year, commented Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.

Dr Saha inaugurated the Tripura Sundari Utsav at the temple premises in Udaipur on Wednesday.

Mata-Tripura-SundariIn his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the significant financial contribution made by the Central Government under the PRASAD (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive) scheme, which allocated over Rs 37 crore for the renovation of the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple. He acknowledged the additional financial support provided by the state government to expedite the ongoing construction of the new temple structure.

Reflecting on the temple’s transformation, Dr. Saha said, "The foundation stone for this project was laid on June 7, 2018, by former President Ram Nath Kovind.

Now, the project is nearing its final stage of completion, and with its new appearance, the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple will emerge as one of the most significant religious tourism sites in the country."

The Chief Minister further emphasized this development would not only enhance the spiritual experience for visitors but also have a positive impact on the local economy.

"The revitalization of the temple will attract more tourists from both India and abroad. This surge in religious tourism will boost the business and commerce in Matabari and the surrounding areas, creating new employment opportunities and uplifting the local community," Dr. Saha remarked.

The event saw the presence of several distinguished guests. District Magistrate of Gomati, Tarit Kanti Chakma, delivered the welcome speech, setting the tone for the ceremonial proceedings. Among those in attendance were Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy, Gomati Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Debal Debroy, MLAs Rampada Jamatia and Jitendra Majumdar, Gomati Zilla Parishad Saha-Sabhadhipati Sujan Kumar Sen, Matabari Panchayat Samiti Chairperson Shilpi Das, Vice-Chairman of the State-level Cultural Advisory Committee Subrata Chakraborty, and Superintendent of Police Rati Ranjan Debnath. The event was chaired by MLA Abhishek Debroy.

Notably, the Tripura Sundari Temple, also known as the ‘Mata Bari Temple,’ holds a cherished place in the hearts of millions of devotees. With the ongoing efforts to enhance its facilities and infrastructure, the temple is set to become a modern spiritual hub, offering an enriching experience to both pilgrims and tourists.
