Judoka Asmita Dey of Tripura wins Gold medal in National Games for UP Police
Tripura's Asmita Dey has claimed the prestigious gold medal in the nation's premier sports competition as she excelled in the women's 48 kg judo category.
Representing the Uttar Pradesh Police team, she showcased her skills at the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand.
As expected, Asmita delivered a stellar performance. She secured the top honor and won the gold medal.
Her victory has filled the state judo association with pride, with officials extending their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for her future endeavors.
Mihir Shil, Assistant Director of the Sports Department and NIS judo coach, also lauded Asmita’s remarkable achievement.
Expressing immense satisfaction with her consistent progress, he remains optimistic about her future, confident that even greater milestones await her in her promising career.
Meantime, Tripura's Sanchita Majumdar has advanced to the finals of the all-around category In gymnastics, raising hopes for a medal.
However, judoka Rikman Debbarma displayed immense determination but fell just short of a podium finish, narrowly losing to Himachal Pradesh's Abhishek D. in a hard-fought match.
