Maoist Attack in Chhattisgarh: Tripura braveheart makes supreme sacrifice
Shambhu Roy (30), a CRPF man from North Tripura, made supreme sacrifice during Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh on Saturday.
Roy, a resident of Bhagyapur of Dharmanagar, had joined the COBRA battalion of CRPF in 2015. According to his family source, Roy had last visited his Bhagyapur residence only twelve days ago.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a social media post saluted the bravery and sacrifice of the Tripura’s braveson Shambhu Roy among the other CRPF personnel martyred in the Maoists attack in Chhattisgarh. He also expressed deep sympathy towards the bereaved families.
“The nation salutes the supreme sacrifices of our Bravehearts who were martyred while fighting Maoists in Chhattisgarh. Tripura salutes the immortal courage and sacrifice of the son of its soil, Shri Shambhu Roy ji who got martyred while fighting the Maoists in Chhattisgarh. 37 lakh people of Tripura stand fully in support with the family of Shri Shambhu Roy ji in this hour of grief. My thoughts are with the families of the valiant personnel. May the injured personnel recover at the earliest,” the Deb wrote.
Tripura MP Pratima Bhoumik also paid tributes to martyr Shambhu Roy. In a tweet, Bhoumik said, “I am paying my tributes to braveson of Tripura Shambhu Roy who was martyred in Naxal attack at Chhattisgarh”. Expressing condolence and sympathy to bereaved family members, she wrote, “People of Tripura as well as the country will never forget his supreme sacrifice for Motherland”.
She also prayed for quick recovery of injured jawans.
In another tweet, Bhowmik wrote, “Salute our brave security personnel who laid down their lives in an operation against the maoists in Chattisgarh. Their commitment and sacrifice for the country will not go in vain. My thoughts are with the families of our jawans. India will never bow down to forces of terror”.
Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker of Tripura Assembly Biswabandhu Sen along with others met the bereaved family soon after receiving the news. A shockwave has gripped the entire North Tripura following the death of the youth.
