Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogajog Yojana in Tripura expanded, 40,215 Students Benefited so far

Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy launched Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogajog Yojana (MYYY) Special Scheme on Tuesday for the final year undergraduate degree of the Academic Year 2022-2023. 

The Minister informed the media Rs 10 crore provisions were announced in 2024-25 Budget for this purpose.

Addressing the media in Agartala today, the Finance Minister said, Tripura Government launched the Mukhyamantri Yuba Yogajog Yojana (MYYY) in 2020.

The MYYY aims at providing financial assistance for reimbursement for procurement of smartphone upto Rs 5000 to the final year Undergraduate degree students studying in Government institutions.

He also shed light on number of beneficiaries  under the MYYY in each year since its inception. 

In the 2020, the MYYY was launched for the final year UG degree students for the 2019-20 Academic Year. At that time, a total of 7286 students were benefited.

Singha Roy continued and said, in the 2021-22 financial year, a total of 9579 students of 2020-21 Academic Year were benefited.

In the 2023-24 Financial Year, the scheme was launched on December 15, 2023 for the students of the 2023-24 Academic Year wherein payment disbursement of Rs 11,458 was successfully completed.

"Since inception of the MYYY, total 40,215 students were benefited and total Rs 20.11 crore expenditure was incurred till now", Singha Roy said.

Coming back to launching the MYYY Special Scheme on Tuesday, the finance minister said, about 12,000 students of the 2022-23 Academic Year were left out of the scheme. To extend the benefit of the scheme to those left out students, guidelines of the scheme were relaxed and MYYY Special Scheme was launched today.
