Record breaking attendance in PM Modi's rally in Agartala

Modi wave hit Agartala as a record breaking and vibrant crowd attended Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public rally in Agartala on Sunday (Dec 18). 

 

People from all sections of life and all parts of Tripura took part in today's public rally of the prime minister.

 

Men, women and youth, irrespective of religion and ethnicity marched to Swami Vivekananda maidan in Agartala to welcome and listen to the Prime Minister.

 

It was an overwhelming situation as thousands of people were converging to Maidan while raising slogans hailing Modi, clapping and dancing to the tune high pitched drum beatings. 

 

Crowd continued to swell and the inside of the ground soon became so much over crowded that the main entrance had to be closed. However public flow continued and the roads around the maidan. Roads were cloaked with Maidan bound crowd.  

 

The venue, in truest sense transformed into a unique place that depicted a united and traditional face of Tripura amidst diversities.

 

Meantime, people waited eagerly on both sides of the road from MBB Airport to Swami Vivekananda maidan to welcome the Prime Minister.

 

Hawkers, in particular cha walas and Badam sellers made a brisk business. 

 

The Prime Minister reached Agartala Airport way behind his scheduled arrival time - however, the delay could not make an impact as people, in a disciplined manner waited to greet the Prime Minister.

 

After landing at the Airport, the Governor, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, Deputy Chief Jishnu Dev Varma, Union MoS Pratima Bhowmik, RS MP Biplab Kumar Deb and State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

 

Later, he drove straight to the Swami Vivekananda Maidan amidst cheering crowds on both sides of the road. 

 

As his arrival at the ground was announced, a spontaneous and enthusiastic crowd stood up and accorded him a rousing welcome.

 

“I am feeling blessed to be at the land of Mata Tripura Sundari,” the Prime Minister said in his opening remark in Bengali.

 

Today's gathering crossed all the estimation and shattered all the previous records.

 

Importantly, mood of the people was excellent - and, today's huge attendance will surely give a boost to the ruling party in the run up to the 2023 Assembly Polls.
