Sadar sub-divisional Magistrate Asim Saha said the new project is providing financial assistance to the relatives of those who passed away in 2021 due to Covid. In Sadar subdivision 124 people have died in Covid. The headquarters is divided into four zones and teams are being formed to find the family members of the persons who died due to Covid in 2021.

The process of tracing the relatives is taking some time as in many cases the address of the deceased family members is not correct.

“The ex-gratia, Rs 50,000, has already been paid in the accounts of each of the 50 beneficiaries. Some other families do not have the necessary paperwork. However, the teams are working with all these aspects in mind. Sadar SDM Asim Saha urged all the eligible beneficiaries to avail of the government help.
