Socio-economic development of Janajatis key goal of Govt, says Tripura CM

Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha paid a visit to the residence of country's brave heart, Chittaranjan Debbarma in the Khowai District of Tripura on Saturday.

Late Chittaranjan Debbarma was martyred in a gun battle with militants at an army camp in Nagrota, Jammu, a few years ago.

Dr. Saha paid his respects at the memorial near the late Chittaranjan Debbarma's residence in Warengtu Bari, located in the Ramchandraghat assembly constituency in the Khowai district, and paid homage.

“Today, I came here to visit the family of Late Chittaranjan Debbarma, who was martyred in 2016 in Kashmir. As I visited Khowai today, I met with his family, paid my respects, and inquired about their needs and whether they require any assistance from the government. During the visit, the family of the Martyr raised some issues, and I have asked the DM Khowai to look into them,” he said.

Dr. Saha later informed that today he also held a meeting with all the Janajatis Samajpatis and said socio-economic development of the Janajati section is one of the key goals of the present Govt.

“They shared their perspectives on the state, country, and the government. I learned many things by talking to them because many things cannot be understood from a distance. But talking to people reveals a lot. Special importance will be given to improving their socio-economic conditions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized that it will not be enough to improve only the socio-economic conditions; it is also necessary to improve the quality. That matter will also be seriously considered,” said Dr. Saha.

Dr. Saha also mentioned that it is not possible to do everything in one day.

“Samajpatis are also informed about what the central government led by the Prime Minister and the state government are doing for the development of the people. The Prime Minister has given special importance to the implementation of people-oriented projects in indigenous populated areas. The state government is also working in that direction. For this reason, the state government has aimed to provide all kinds of administrative facilities to the people through the good governance campaign in every house,” he added.

During the visit , the Chief Minister was accompanied by Janajati Kalyan Minister Bikash Debbarma, MLA Pinaki Das Chowdhury, MLA Ranjit Debbarma, Khowai District Magistrate Chandni Chandran and other officials of the administration.
