A mass gathering will be organized on behalf of Tipra Motha on November 12 next at Swami Vivekananda Maidan (Astabol Ground) in Agartala in support of party’s demand of constitutional rights of Tiprasa people. Moreover, supporting the demand, activists of Tipra Motha will go to New Delhi for demonstration at Jantar Mantar on December 1 next.
Tipra Motha supremo Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman told a press conference at Raj Andar in Agartala on Sunday evening that people from all parts of the state would participate peacefully in this mass gathering.
He said that the activists are being called upon to ensure that the gathering is completed peacefully. Debbarma also said there will be no rally in Agartala, people will assemble at the Swami Vivekananda Ground in a peaceful manner.
Permission has already been obtained from the police for the rally.
“We were supposed to hold the gathering on November 6 last, however, the concerned authority did not give us permission citing the visit of the Prime Minister. Now, we have got the clearance to hold a gathering on November 12 next”, Debbarma commented.
Regarding other upcoming events, Debbarma said, 2000 Tipra Motha supporters from across the State will go to Delhi to hold a demonstration at Jantar Mantar.
He said that all preparations of the party for this rally are final. He also said that the Delhi campaign will start from December 1.
About 2,000 workers and supporters will travel to Delhi by train from Tripura for the Delhi campaign. He said that the activists and supporters of Tipra Motha will stand at Jantar Mantar in Delhi with the constitutional demands.
Earlier, Debbarma attended a public rally at Gandachhera Degree College ground in Dhalai district today in which he slammed both the CPIM and BJP.
In today’s program at Gandachhera, 3119 voters of 1037 families joined Tipra Motha quitting BJP and IPFT, party sources claimed.
He also went to the resettlement camp of Bru refugees and interacted with the inmates to become aware of their problems.
